How does Google make money?

For all its fame in the world of searching, Google makes a majority of its income from advertising.

Of the company's $US33.3 billion revenue last year, online ads made up 97%. Google offers two ad platforms, AdSense and AdWords. They earn 70% and 30% of the advertising revenue respectively.

If you have web forms on your website, you are probably aware of spam. Blocking these spammers can be important for productivity and can be done in a number of ways. One way is to separate the email address into two parts to fool bots and spammers. Alternatively, a script that moves the form action and calls it on submit can be implemented. This blocks bots from being able to access the form action.

These actions significantly reduce spam and for some users, spam is now completely non-existent. In some cases, the Captcha method has been removed altogether, improving access for users.
